Wired
Wood Pencil / Magazine & Newspaper Design / Magazine Front Covers / 2012
A five-minute shoot with an impatient and very busy Alan Sugar to illustrate a feature based on failure sounds like art director hell. For the May 2011 issue, ‘Wired’ took the conventions of cover design and turned them on their head; cropping through the face, misprinting a double masthead and running visible colour bars all gave the printers a nightmare – but the readers loved it.
