Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Illustration / Illustration for Design / 2012

The Dignity For Children Foundation feeds and educates abandoned, homeless and refugee kids, but was short of funds. True success stories of kids with Dignity were hand-drawn on the cheap but much-loved school ‘exercise books’ familiar to every Malaysian. These were distributed in the school (to inspire kids with stories of their peers) and to the public. Sponsorship by banks, embassies and individuals increased. They also caught the eye of Pearson Longman (a leading publisher) and collaboration on fully-sponsored mass production of these books is in progress.
