Rude Mechanicals

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Illustration / Illustration for Design / 2012

Three of the finest boutique wine makers from Australia each created one wine for a new wine brand called The Rude Mechanicals. A tongue-in-cheek, surreal approach was taken: the two wine monkeys and their magic contraption, making flying birds that grow grapes in their beaks, dropping them back to earth to be converted into wine; the mysteries of creating amazing wines and the secret methods that are employed. Hand drawn type was created as a part of the illustration so that there was a connection between the written word and imagery.
