Tadashii Soutaiseiriron

Award: Graphite Pencil

Graphite Pencil / Graphic Design / CD, DVD & Record Sleeves / 2012

This is the CD album of Japanese rock band Theory of Relativity. The band asked itself questions on the theme of ‘What is the correct theory of relativity?’ and the sound grew from there. The resulting music was reworked by ten musicians. Derived expressions and diagrams answering the same questions are notated. A red and green check sheet, a popular memory aid used by Japanese students, is attached to the sleeve. Listeners can join in the fun by solving the mystery hiding in the diagrams and lyrics.
