The Quantum Universe: Everything That Can Happen Does Happen

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Book Design / Book Front Covers / 2012

Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw wrote this book to help make the science of quantum mechanics accessible to absolutely anyone who wants to know. Peter Saville Studio advocated the rainbow as the perfect allegorical image for the cover of this book: a rainbow’s creation is both a spectacular example of quantum mechanics at work and yet utterly familiar and beautiful to every one of us. Having sourced the rainbow photo from Flickr, the titling was rendered in holofoil to further manifest the division of light. The font was sourced by Paul Hetherington and designed by Radim Pesko and Karl Nawrot.
