Signage for Musashino Art University Museum & Library

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Typography / Typography for Design / 2011

This is design work for the academic library of an art university. The concept, ‘The Forest of Books’ by architect Sousuke Fujimoto, was implemented in the library. The result was a space where visitors are guided by numeric signs to the books they are looking for. The numbers of the signs represent the content of the classification: the number seven is made from the letters spelling ‘art’; and for the technology category, fives have been arranged like the cogwheels of a clock in order to represent the concept of technology.
