Warmbronner Schriften 21
Wood Pencil / Typography / Typography for Design / 2011
The 21st volume of the ‘Warmbronn Scriptures’ focuses on the literary significance of poet Christian Wagner’s impressions from travels in Italy around the year 1900, and forms the prelude to the newly redesigned book series. The personal, historical and current aspects of Wagner’s work – his progressive and modern ideas – are portrayed in an unconventional manner. Large headings act like old newspaper mastheads and organise the volume into three chapters. The scientific, documentary style of the book is consistently eased on a written and pictorial level. Expressive poem sketches and illustrated postcards remind the reader of a travel diary.
