The objective was to demonstrate how the Cape Times reports on world events from every angle in order to deliver balanced and unbiased information. Cape Times readers possess above-average general knowledge, and are well educated and discerning when it comes to news. The solution was to show a well-known news story from a less well-known perspective. There’s always another side to every story and this ad demonstrates that in a simple, engaging way. The focus in ‘Tank’ is on what and how the driver of a tank on Tiananmen Square must have been thinking, bringing a more human dimension to the event.
