Graphite Pencil / Music Videos / Editing for Music Videos / 2011
Hip-hop can be oddly conservative, with dyed in the wool conventions that are very rarely broken. Ultimately the goal of this video was to break down those conventions. It was not a narrative or straightforward performance/hip-hop video, so I had to find creative ways to make these seemingly random images work together. As tricky as it was to create a relationship between a shot of a Samurai fighter and a flaming basketball for instance, we endeavoured to achieve just that in such a way that the viewer doesn't question those juxtapositions.
