The logo brief was to better represent and manage visitors’ expectations of The Mary Rose prior to the opening of an iconic museum in Portsmouth in 2012 – a dynamic attraction rich with narrative and emotion. The logo design emphasises all that makes the museum special, and quickly communicates the potentially complex tale of a Tudor ship whose sinking led to a story that continues today. The logo will bring the story of this famous vessel to life – it will be seen by people across the world as the key image for The Mary Rose and its new museum.
