Everyone has an opinion on environmental issues. But what about nature’s opinion? Cascade, publishers of Science magazine EOS, launched the EOS Talking Tree, a 100-year-old tree in Brussels that shared its daily life with the world on social media. To let the tree talk, it was equipped with sensors that monitored what it went through every day. Those sensors were connected to custom made software that translated the data into words on Facebook and Twitter, videos on YouTube, photos on Flickr, and sound on SoundCloud. People could follow and subscribe to its feeds on www.talking-tree.com.
