The creative challenge was to draw attention to the magazine issue commemorating the 90th anniversary of Bauhaus; an issue about design’s ethical responsibility. Our task was to create a magazine cover reflecting the central theme, that today’s design must go back to focusing onthe basics. Our target audience were readers of the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, a weekly magazine supplement from the reputable German daily, the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Less is more – it’s time for designers and architects to devote more attention to the basics again, and to make people the focal point of their work.
