A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Book Design / Entire Books / 2010

This is a love story that runs from February 2003 to February 2004. The colours rose and purple represent Chinese women and British men. The book uses both the old Chinese monthly calendar and the English calendar. Transparent tape is used as a bandage on the wound of love. The designer’s daughter drew many of the pictures such as the sun, a bee, a cup and a boat. The use of a child’s art demonstrates the innocence in the passion, while the ribbons and birds show the truth of the love.
