There is nothing elegant about tractors. They are bow-legged and loudmouthed, just like in the myth about the farmers of Jaeren, an area along the south west coast of Norway. They are sluggish, hot-tempered and can destroy peoples’ sleep. But they are dependable when you need them. This book is an affectionate tribute to the tractor-life of Jaeren. With beautiful and ambient photographs, 'Traktorland' illustrates the central role the tractor has played, and what’s more, still does play, in Jaeren. Who said tractors don’t have souls?
