40th Anniversary Issue
Graphite Pencil / Magazine & Newspaper Design / Entire Magazines / 2009
For New York Magazine’s 40th anniversary, we created an issue that was a celebration of the city of New York and the people who have influenced it over the past 40 years. The cover photograph of the skyline was the same one on the first cover of New York Magazine in 1968, this time rendered in metallic black and white. All of the display typography inside the issue is in the original Egyptienne typeface, a nod to the history of the magazine. The issue is filled with photographic and illustrative portraits and stories of famous and infamous New Yorkers.
