Wood Pencil / Viral / Viral Films / 2008
In Australia, Drambuie is targeted at affluent young men living and working in the inner city. So, we went out to some of the rougher pubs in the outer suburbs to ask Aussie blokes what they think of it. This film shows their reactions. Invariably, they don’t appreciate Drambuie’s rich, colourful history (created in 1745 for Bonnie Prince Charlie as he fought for his kingdom), its serving style (‘it looks like a bloody salad’), or its distinctive taste (suggesting it’s for lawyers and rich people with ‘taste up their arse’). The film was released online under the guise of official Drambuie research.
