Hearing Test

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Viral / Interactive Virals / 2008

The site is camouflaged as a hearing test. After a few frequency tones are played, we suddenly hear a little girl break through the tones: ‘Hello? Hello? Can you hear me? I’m wondering about something... Cause mom and dad, they’ve been fighting a lot lately... and I’m scared they don’t love each other anymore. Maybe it’s my fault? So it would be nice to have someone to talk to. If you’ve got the time that is?’ Messages appear, apologising for tricking the users and explaining how they are receiving more enquiries than they can handle. The final message is a request for a contribution so more children can get help from an adult who will listen to them.
