Award: Yellow Pencil

Yellow Pencil / TV & Cinema Crafts / Use of Music / 2008

We hear ‘In the Air Tonight’ by Phil Collins as we realise we’re in front of a serene-looking gorilla. The line ‘I’ve been waiting for this moment, all my life’ plays and the ape stretches its neck like a heavyweight boxer would do before a fight. He’s sitting in front of a massive drum kit and the best drum fill in the history of rock is on its way. The gorilla knows this. He smashes the drums fervently, feeling every beat. The camera leaves the gorilla with his drums. United, the way they are meant to be. This has been A Glass and a Half Full production.
