Stockland Flip Dot Wall
Graphite Pencil / Environmental Design / Installations / 2008
Australian property group Stockland’s office relocation was an opportunity to reinforce its culture and commitment to the environment. As the showpiece at the building entrance, the client wanted a piece of media that could present information about the company and its values. In an age when LCD screens have become commonplace, our idea was to go low-tech in a new and creative way. We developed an interactive art piece, coined the ‘flip dot wall’, that uses over 9,000 revolving dots to create unlimited animations. It can change according to season, event or achievement, and can be adapted for functions to become part of the entertainment. The installation not only embellishes the lobby, but has also become a point of interest for passers-by.
