Paper Bubble Wrap: Spring/Cherry Blossom / Summer/Tidal Wave / Autumn/Atumn Leaves / Winter/Snow flakes

Award: Graphite Pencil

Graphite Pencil / Packaging Design / Packaging / 2007

This packaging adds to the anticipation of sending or receiving a gift. Air cellular cushioning material, or bubble wrap as it is more commonly known, is a functional item to merely wrap an item safely and securely. By changing the material from plastic to paper, we deliver premium Japanese quality. And by making it opaque, the excitement of opening the gift builds. The design is themed around the four seasons, which makes it appropriate for the Japanese culture of giving gifts throughout the year. The world's most elastic paper (as of June 2006) is used for this new packaging material, which is moulded with cast, just like regular bubble wrap.
