Staircase
Wood Pencil / Graphic Design / Posters / 2007
This campaign originated from the observation that most 'able' people are ignorant of the plight of disabled people. What most of us take for granted can actually be a huge obstacle for the physically handicapped. We chose to use common traffic icons juxtaposed with the wheelchair icon to communicate this fact. The use of traffic icons is also a way of symbolising how arduous life's journey can be for the disabled community while trying to fit into 'able' society. It is a journey that most of us turn a blind eye to. The DPAS's motto “Vox Nostra” perfectly captures their need to finally be seen and heard.
