Cheer and Jane

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / TV & Cinema Graphics / TV & Cinema Promotions, Stings & Programme Junctions / 2006

Cheer and Jane, two teenage Thai television stars, have fun playing gags on each other in this promotion to collect noodle packets to exchange for wristwatches, alarm clocks and pillows, which have the faces of the two stars on them. In 'Alarm Clock', Cheer changes the time for which the alarm clock is set, so that her best friend Jane wakes up and hurries to catch the bus for university at 2 am. In 'Pillow', Jane experiences a shock when she sees another Cheer in the house after having seen Cheer asleep in the bedroom. Little does she know that the sleeping Cheer is actually the face on the giveaway pillow. In 'Wristwatch', while on shoot for a soap opera, Cheer experiences a strange sensation. Her arms start swinging like the arms on her wristwatch (which has her face on it). The person who put the voodoo on her is her old friend Jane. The idea of 'Saucy Act' covers both the spicy flavour and the teens' attitude. They enjoy teasing and bedevilling each other; in fact, like many teenagers it is actually a way of displaying affection.
