God of War

Award: Graphite Pencil

Graphite Pencil / Gaming / Console Games / 2006

Inspired by the timeless, epic tales of classic Greek mythology, this visceral action adventure tells the story of Kratos, a ruthless Spartan soldier on a mission from the gods to kill Ares, God of War. Armed with the deadly Blades of Chaos and blessed with magical abilities from his omnipotent masters, Kratos must battle numerous creatures of legend, from Harpies and Hydras, to Cyclopes and Cerberuses, in his bid to retrieve the only item that can destroy a god: Pandora's Box. As Kratos, players embark on an unforgettable journey that sees them cutting swathes through storm-battered cargo ships, ravaged city streets, siren-infested deserts, Titan-mounted temples and the fiery depths of Hades, all the while discovering the terrible secret behind the tormented anti-hero's grisly past.
