EyeToy: Play 3

Award: Wood Pencil

Wood Pencil / Gaming / Console Games / 2006

EyeToy: Play 3 is the third iteration in the series of the multi-award winning Play franchise from SCE London Studio. In this game, the players are the stars of the show - the player appears on screen and either looks silly or incredibly cool in front of the camera, while taking part in madcap mini games. Simply by using the EyeToy USB camera plugged into a PlayStation 2 console, players are able to control the game. For the first time ever up to four people can physically compete on the same screen at the same time. The game continues to be faithful to its origins and its target audience: all ages and sexes that engender social interaction. By removing the traditional game controller and allowing the players to use their natural movement to control the games, EyeToy has made videogames accessible to everyone.
