Cigarette Lighter
Wood Pencil / Ambient / Guerrilla / 2006
Shopkeepers selling cigarettes in India keep electric cigarette lighters outside their shops, which have a switch and a coil. When the switch is pressed, the coil gets heated so that the cigarette can be lit. These electric lighters were manipulated by incorporating a picture of a man smoking on them. When the smoker presses the switch to light his cigarette, the coil, which is placed at the throat area of the picture, gets lit, visually suggesting throat cancer.
