New Blood Entry — They Have Names

Award: Wood Pencil

Dropbox Paper / 2018

In the current displacement crisis, the dehumanisation of ‘refugees’ is at the root of problems, such as segregation and discrimination. This vague term ‘refugees’ completely disregards that they are individual human beings, with names.

However, we live in a world obsessed with names. A world where the names on our T-shirts act as status symbols to express something about ourselves.

But, a T-shirt that acknowledges and welcomes as individuals, with names, says a lot more about you than any big designer name ever could.

They Have Names aims to flip materialistic consumerism on its head, in humanity’s favour.
