New Blood Entry — Ellie Dowse

I'd like to think that all of my work captures youth in some way or another. Most of the people that I photograph are friends or just people that I've seen around and asked to take their picture. I'm drawn to interesting faces and interesting people.The photographs are never really posed but at the same time they're not quick, spontaneous snapshots either. They're sort of inbetween. A lot of my time is spent just watching and waiting for the right moment. This shot is of my best friend, Tom. He has the most childlike innocence to his face. It's as though, in body and mind, he grew up but his face stayed the same and is still that of a little boy's.
