I have created It’s Nice Thats very own student awards entitled Nice and New Student Awards. Playing on the ‘It’s Nice That’ name, I have created twelve awards (one per month). Each award has its own individual twist and personality. Each award has been named in such a way that they do not categorise in regards to creative areas or disciplines for example, graphic design, photography or fashion. Instead, the awards are descriptive and expressive so that they allow students from all creative backgrounds to submit their work in order to gain a range of diverse entries. To tackle the problem of an information overloaded university world, I have designed a Nice and New website and have showcased this using an interactive PDF. The website is totally directed at students the fully functional PDF allows the user to navigate their way from the It’s Nice That homepage and throughout the many areas of Nice and New. The PDF contains many interactive features such as rollover and clickable buttons, slideshows and drop down menus. Nice and New Student Awards enables the student to be fully involved throughout the process. They can submit their own work, vote for winning work and are the first to know when the winner is announced.
