Award: In Book

Graphic Design / 2013

The Victoria & Albert Museum is home to an array of beautiful collection pieces that span over hundreds of years. The real beauty lies in the architecture in which these priceless objects are displayed. The museum is an art form in itself. It's series of levels and corridoors make it a pleasant place to become immersed in - a labrynth of texture, history, and inspiration. Despite being easy to lose yourself, it can be argued that one can also find themselves at the V&A. For the V&A / D&AD project, Our group took this understanding of the V&A's structure and developed a maze design for the hoarding, with the inventive tagline 'prepare to be amazed.' The imagery works on two levels. First of all the ideals of the V&A are addressed in a design that has been created using samples of the variety of patterns and textures on display, whilst also acting as an interactive space for members of the public. Children and adults alike can follow the series of lines with their finger, arriving at a conclusion that describes the new architectural advernture the V&A is embarking on.
