The New Entrance - A series of illustrated doors, that can be opened using augmented reality, to reveal exhibits within the museum - get knighted by Queen Victoria, sing with David Bowie or watch mosaics being made. Inside the museum, postcards with markers reference the exhibits behind the doors. What’s behind the door? Creates curiosity and interest in the lead up to the new courtyard entrance.Pedestrians will also trigger sensors that generate sounds; dog barking, door slamming, doorbell ringing, knock-knock... Strategically positioned letterboxes, and door mats add to the street scene. The letterboxes will house instructions for downloading the augmented reality app. An outdoor screen will also reveal parts of the exhibits with augmented reality so that people on the other side of the street will be engaged. The augmented reality allows changeability over the 3 year time frame.
