MAKING TV SOCIAL AGAIN
Many people like to have a bit of a chat while they’re watching TV. But while TV has moved online the social aspect, such as a family all gathering in the lounge to watch a show, has not.
Facebook Connect is a set of existing developers’ tools that allows the syncing of a website with Facebook. This allows users to immediately find their friends. Our concept, the BBC MiPlayer, embraces this capability, allowing the user to share the huge variety of BBC content quickly and easily with their friends on Facebook, as well as on their MiPlayer account.
The MiPlayer Lounge function enables you to invite friends to watch the same show you are watching, up to the point you are at, and chat. Meaning an online lounge environment is established.
