New Blood Entry — Dani Matthews

An interactive, contemporary book design concept positioned within the Orion Classics series that is informed by the semi-autobiographical theme and content of three titles and the fictional mirroring of HG Wells’ fictional characterisations. In order to depict this duality, each hardback cover is removable and reversible.

The cover of one side is an original, editorial photographic treatment relating to a key event in the narrative text and the reverse, the author’s title credit. Common across all titles, the outer cover and bound content are linked together by a bespoke, engraved leather band. Within the series each edition allows the reader the facility to select the preferred visual identity of the book and its definition as factual or fictional.
