Visual Communication 2011: A Catalogue of Us
A Catalogue of Us is the AUCB Visual Communication class of 2011 graduate show. As part of my final year of studies at The Arts University College Bournemouth I partook in the design and organisation of two separate exhibitions showcasing graduate work. As a member of the team responsible for the show’s web presence, I took the lead role in conceptualising, designing, and building the website that would advertise both our Bournemouth and London (D&AD New Blood) exhibitions. Responsibilities included the collection and organisation of work, design, and coding for the site. For more information visit: http://callumj.co.uk/projects/vis-com-2011
D&AD Student Awards - BBC Archive
This reinvention of the BBC Archive website was my entry for the 2011 D&AD Student Awards. The challenge was to create a platform that could reinvigorate this content, and help audiences to discover it in ways they may not expect. My solution was to reinterpret their vast catalogue as a collection of narratives and stories to link together various material—whether in the form of video, image, or sound—showcasing them chronologically. This works to the advantage of new audiences who may only be discovering for the first time, via a platform more familiar with the ways in which we experience broadcasting today. * Winner in D&AD's 'Interactive Design' brief, awarded with 'In Book' status. Archive Network
Archive Network is a concept for a new web-based platform that brings together the archives of the world into a unified network. There is a wealth of information held within archives all over the world that is greatly undervalued. Archive Network aims to make this information accessible within a user-friendly platform that is in tune with modern day technology in an attempt to bring archives into the 21st century.
