Simon rejected a sensible career as a pharmacist and went to study Graphic Design at Central St Martins School of Art. This was followed by stints as a copywriter/Creative Director at Ogilvy, DDB and McCann London. It was at McCann where he also served as ECD for five years - during its most successful period. He has picked up all the top industry awards but still holds his Yellow Pencils most dear. He has previously served on the Exec, been a D&AD judge on many occasions and was chair of the 2011 Black Pencil jury. Simon has also run his own business (twice) and is currently Global Creative Director at adam&eve/DDB, so he is sensitive to the needs of agencies of all sizes. Most of all, he is an eternal optimist and passionate about developing creativity. Perhaps that's why he still supports Leeds United?
