Born in Lincolnshire and brought up in East Africa, Tim Lindsay was educated at Kingswood School Bath, Magdalene College Cambridge and Harvard Business School.
He spent thirty-four years in advertising; as joint managing director of BBH; managing director of Y&R London; CEO, then European President, then Worldwide President of Lowe Howard-Spink/Lowe Lintas/Lowe Worldwide; Chairman of Publicis UK and President of TBWA\UK and Ireland.
Tim was appointed CEO of D&AD, the advertising and design awards show and creative education charity in 2011. In 2019 he became Chairman.
In real life he is married to Caroline and has four children; Ben, Georgia, Ella and Jessie.
He is also a school governor and likes books, art, photography, cooking, sailing, skiing, cycling, dogs and Chelsea FC.
