In-house programmes

You may want to get creative and use D&AD Workout in a different way. Perhaps you'd like to make it a private affair for just your people.

Or use it as a targeted training programme, or a motivation boosting away-day for the whole agency. Or maybe you aren't a design company or an advertising agency but you are interested in inspiring your people to work creatively.

If so, you'll be interested in bespoke Workout. We can run existing training sessions in house or custom-build them to meet your specific needs.

Jo Maude can tell you all about the Bespoke Programme.

Bespoke Workout - In-House

You can pick as many sessions as you want from the Workout programme and we will bring them to you. Look at the table below for a list of in-house sessions.

The price covers the cost of the training and a limited amount of adjustment to suit the session to your needs.

If there's a lot of bespoke development involved we might have to charge a bit more. And of course there's always venue, catering and AV equipment to consider.

We recommend getting out of the everyday office environment for this kind of training, though if you would like to have us over in your office we'd be happy to come round.

Running sessions outside the UK

If you are running your Workout outside the UK there are a few things to take into consideration. The costs above cover the session itself. There are also other costs that will crop up. We've listed the most important below to help you organise your event:

  • Travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses for the session leaders and the D&AD facilitator
  • Venue, catering and AV equipment hire
  • Any visa or travel insurance costs incurred by the session leaders and facilitator
  • Session leader's fees for time spent travelling

Custom-built training

If you want to use Workout to address a specific business or skills issue it's possible that you will need more than the existing sessions.

Perhaps you are looking to encourage collaboration between departments or to develop a creative culture throughout a global network.

Maybe you want your in-house marketing department to improve their writing skills. Perhaps you want to increase the ability of your top people to apply creative thinking to their business.

Whatever you need, we can create something specifically for you. Here's some examples of the kinds of things we can do:

Residential Creative Training

Let us redefine the word 'conference' for your people. We can design a creative experience that will blow their socks off. It can last two, three, four days - even a week if you want.

Training sessions with artists, designers, comedians? Talks from film-makers, architects, creative directors? A glimpse into futurology, computer arts, mathematics?

Tell us what you want and we can gather great creative practitioners and trainers from any field. This is the full deal - it costs, but it's worth it.

Writing Coaching

Everybody writes. Whether it is an ad or an email, a speech, a pitch or the copy on a sandwich wrapper, the ability to work magic with words is an essential skill.

D&AD can provide you with writers from a range of disciplines. So you could concentrate on a specific area like dialogue or screenwriting or copy, or build confidence and skills with a comedy writing workshop or writing for design.

Or do a bit of both. Whatever you need to know you can be sure that Workout has a writer who teaches it. And, if we don't, we know where to find one.

Creative Thought Day

D&AD's speciality is creativity. We bring together experienced session leaders who explore creative thinking in interesting and unusual ways. They create an interactive session that takes participants on a journey through ideas.

They pose the question 'Why aren't we all having great ideas all the time?' and then provide some interesting answers. They encourage people to surprise themselves. A flexible session in terms of numbers - we've run it for two, we've run it for two hundred.

Speakers Corner

Introduce your staff to D&AD miniature lectures. Small, exquisite pieces of D&AD wisdom delivered in-house at your leisure by A-list D&AD members.

Use them as a short, sharp creative shot in the arm, to inform and inspire. The collection of hour-long lectures covers a wide range of subjects delviered by highly experienced creative practitiioners, along with some other inspirational individuals from other areas of the business.

D&AD will provide you with profiles of each speaker and an outline of what they will talk about. The audience is up to you - whoever you feel would benefit.

You can make a one off booking and invite a single speaker. Even better you can set up a regular event and collect the whole set. There is a set fee of £1,000 plus travel expenses per speaker.

Here are some of the speakers available:
