Once again Noddy Holder proclaims 'It's Christmas' and who are we to argue?

What better way to count down the days than with our Ad-vent (see what we did there?) Calendar, showcasing some of the various christmas-themed entries we've honoured over the years. Check back every day (except Sundays, sorry) for the latest entry.

Thursday 23 December: Are you sure the person fiddling with your presents is really Santa? Here's a handy guide.

Wednesday 22nd December: A great piece of Christmas-themed branding for Volkswagen

Tuesday 21 December: The kiss-mass Tree - ever tried using your lips as a lightswitch?

Monday 20 December: The story of a brave turkey who managed to escape the Christmas cull. Written on tinfoil, which presumably just rubs it in the face of the turkey you're about to cook...

Saturday 18 December: Proof that Santa exists. And, apparently, is a bit Urban.

Friday 17 December: A cheeky advent calendar that really would have young men looking forward to Christmas Day.

Thursday 16 December: Consumerism vs. Christmas - Nothing is sacred.

Wedneday 15 December: A christmas message (in Finnish) from D&AD President Sanky. Starring some really awful socks.

Tuesday 14 December: A shiny, stylish reminder that Christmas doesn't always mean peace and goodwill to all men.

Monday 13 December: Yulia Brodskaya illustrates a thrifty Christmas

Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 December: Silent Night - A Charitable christmas present from design group Strichpunkt

Friday 10 December: An advent calendar that's (almost) as good as our own.

Thursday 9 December: Eye-bending Christmas card design from an agency with offices on both sides of the atlantic.

Wednesday 8 December: 'Eyeing up a package' takes on a whole new meaning.

Tuesday 7 December: Christmas time, mistletoe and wine. Also, sandwiches.

Monday 6 December: A staple of the Christmas season: The Royal Mail's festive stamp collection.

Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 December: Ad firm Isobel mess with our heads using their 2007 corporate Christmas card.

Friday 3 December: A witty reminder to enjoy the Christmas spirit(s) responsibly.

Thursday 2 December: The iconic Regent Street Christmas Lights get an interactive makeover.

Wednesday 1 December: We kick off the D&AD Ad-vent Calendar with a big pile of rubbish from Wieden + Kennedy.

The D&AD Awards 2011 are now open for entries. To enter, click here.
