What does the future hold for the D&AD Annual?
The D&AD Annual: for 48 years it’s been landing with a thump on your desks.
For anyone with a creative bent the pull of paper was once universal. These days the tactility of a pile of the stuff reminds us of a planet in crisis – deforestation and waste. And that smell of a newly printed page… toxic solvents and dead rivers in China?
So, as the pull of the screen gets ever stronger, as D&AD builds its archive and people start keeping their books on server farms rather than shelves, what is the future of books like the annual? We asked Mike Dempsey, who recently recorded an interview with us about his own annual collection; Nat Hunter and Sophie Thomas from Three Trees; and our own president Sanky.
Now, we want you to tell us what you think. Read their articles, then have your say about this bastion of D&AD culture.
