White Pencil

The White Pencil Symposium

The D&AD White Pencil Symposium will be a platform for the design and advertising community to discuss the power of creativity as a force for positive social change.

The Sustainability and Social change agenda has shifted from moral argument to commercial imperative, resulting in a creative challenge that demands a response from every corner of our industry.

Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the role that business and brands have played in creating many of the problems we face. They are frustrated with business-as-usual responses and are demanding more from their brands: more responsibility, more sustainability, more humanity.

Those brands, agencies and practitioners that respond to this challenge as an obligation will be overtaken by those that embrace it as an opportunity — an opportunity to produce groundbreaking work, create new ways to engage consumers and new ways to deliver value.

Hear our panel discuss how they approach managing brands, businesses and creative to deliver business success and positive social change. Then see which entry impressed the judges, with the presentation of the inaugural White Pencil.

Steven Johnson (Chair) – Founder of Considered Creative
