The son of a British Fashion Designer and Romanian Graphic Designer, Jake was conceived in London, christened with an American name and (if this wasn’t confusing enough) was raised in South Africa. Growing up in a market with 11 official languages and high illiteracy, he thought it best to communicate with pictures, and studied as a Graphic Designer.
After 5 years as a Creative Group Head at FCB South Africa, he spent 2 years travel writing around Africa, Europe and Asia. 5 years in London included freelance stints at TBWA, M+C Saatchi, Partners Andrews Aldridge, Ogilvy and Lowe, as well as projects at TBWA Paris and Chemistry Dublin.
In 2006, he moved to Sydney, spending 2 years at BWM as a Creative Group Head and has been at BMF Sydney, Australian agency of the decade, since 2008. His work has been recognised at D&AD, Clios, One Show, Cannes, The Andy Awards, London Awards, and Eurobest, as well at integrated festivals like the Caples and DMA awards.
