Marissa Bourke
Creative Director - Elle Magazine
Marissa is a multi-award winning Creative Director who has worked with some of the most influential people in the fashion industry. She studied Graphic Design and secured her first job at The Face magazine. This was followed by positions at Arena and Arena Homme Plus and freelance for Esquire and GQ.
Marissa then went on to Vogue where she became Art Director working with Creative Director Robin Derrick. During this time she also worked at Russian Vogue and Allure in New York.
After seven years at Vogue, Marissa was recruited to work as Creative Director for Elle. Her work at Elle has garnered a number of awards: Redesign of the Year 2008 and Cover of the Year 2008 at the Magazine Design and Journalism awards; and Art Director of the Year 2008 at the British Society of Magazine Editors Awards. She was shortlisted as a finalist by the Society of Publication Designers USA and also recently won Designer of the Year 2009 at the PPA Awards.
For Elle she has worked with, among others, J-Lo, Kylie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sienna Miller, Chloe Sevigny, Charlize Theron and Courtney Love.
