Darren Richardson
Executive Technology Director - 180RIOT Amsterdam

Darren has joined 180 as their Executive Technical Director for the agency. His objective is to bring technology and creative closer. To do this he oversees and joins the dots between creative technical strategy and conceptual ideas in the digital space. He classes himself as a creative technologist with a passion for innovation.
Darren joins 180 from Isobar’s De-Construct, where he worked across the London and Amsterdam offices, setting up the technical infrastructure. Highlights from his output at De-Construct include a Webby for the Keith Tyson website (www.keithtyson.com).
Before this he was Technical Director at R/GA, where he grew the agency from five to 30 people, and won awards for Nokia Urbanista and Nokia Vine amongst others.
He subsequently moved into the digital advertising field by becoming Interactive Director at Magic Lantern. At this point he won a BAFTA and a Webby award for a Channel 4 project called Four Docs, a site that enabled people to create their own short films.
He has written a number of books, over 80 articles on digital and technology and has a blog www.playfool.com which gives insight into Creative Technology and innovation across all channels such as online, mobile, retail and outdoor.
