1988: First ad in D&AD while on placement at Elgie Stewart Smith. The Observer ‘The Waltons’ 60” Radio.
1988: Cromer Titterton.
1989: Fired.
1989: Edwards Martin Thorton.
1990: Not fired.
1991: Joins Publicis. International. Not the good bit.
1992: Simons Palmer Denton Clemmow Johnson, best creative agency in London.
1992: Creative Directors fired. Dave walks out in a strop.
1992: Leagas Delaney.
1996: Wins first D&AD Pencil. Adidas ‘Lamppost’.
1997: BMP/DDB to be a DOC & Head of Art. (DOC stood for Director of Creativity, similar to a Creative Director, but with the words switched around and an ‘of ’ separating them.)
1999: Abbott Mead Vickers. Replacing Ron Brown as Head of Art.
2001: Sets up Campbell Doyle Dye.
2006: Shafted.
2007: Dave finds partners whose surnames are further down the alphabet and founds Dye Holloway Murray. Nominated at D&AD every single year since it started.
