How Hetero Twitter

Since launching in 1998, Stockholm Pride has grown into the largest Pride celebration in the Nordic region. The theme of 2009, Hetero, focused on heteronormativity and how it affects homosexual, bisexual and transgender people’s everyday life, what consequences it brings and how it affects society as a whole. The site analyses your Twitter account, givinga percentage assessment of how hetero you are based on your last 200 tweets. We wanted to illustrate the fact that everyday words used in conversations can be perceived as potentially discriminating against people with different sexual orientations. How Hetero was the world’s most Tweeted link for two days in July 2009.
