The aim of the campaign was to highlight Marston’s sponsorship of English cricket during the 2009 Ashes by humorously pointing out the superior ‘pedigree’ of the English over their Australian rivals. By using provocative statements in the spirit of the good-humoured rivalry that exists between England and Australia, we encouraged banter and cemented Marston’sas the beer of English cricket.
