Staples
To create the world’s first posters made entirely out of staples, we hired Sarah Illenberger, a young artist from Berlin. After two weeks, she had created the elephant poster, composed out of roughly 80,000 staples. Once the staple posters were almost complete, we placed them in three prominent locations in the biggest German cities, Hamburg and Berlin. Although they looked and felt like they were literally stapled to the wall, we had prepared two thirds of the art pieces in the studio. The pieces attracted a lot of attention, thanks to the fascinating way they were crafted.
