Icograda World Design Congress 2009
‘Xin- Å’ means ‘human speaking’ and therefore ‘message’ or ‘letter’ in Chinese, representing a primitive means of communication. It was the theme of the Icograda World Design Congress 2009, Beijing, symbolising communication. Six envelopes made up the central visual identity ofthe congress, creating different letterforms. The Chinese letter ‘ Å’ was formed by changing the position of the envelopes, which formed the English ‘Xin’. The transformations represented the delivery or translation of the information between two different cultures.
