Labels in Sittard, the Netherlands, offers an impressive collection of youthful, trendy fashion brands. The shop’s interior was redesigned by Maurice Mentjens, who combined three small spaces, then divided them again into yin and yang. Steel trees form a reference to the Gardenof Eden, white refers to virginal innocence, and black is for the lost paradise. This is the biblical story of creation, in which Adam and Eve are at first free of sin in the Garden of Eden. They only clothed themselves after their fall, when they had eaten the forbidden fruits from the tree of knowledge, and became aware of their nakedness.
