Thrice Removed
Published for British photographer David Stewart, this book makes observations on family,society, relationships and life in general; it is beautifully art directed with a knowing smile and ready wink. The colour photographs bear close scrutiny both technically and emotionally,revealing more the closer you look. The format of a children’s board book alludes to Stewart’s childlike curiosity, while the images hint at an altogether darker heart. The launch took place in a disused warehouse in London’s East End, where the audience was treated to various live installations and performances taken from the book. These included a performance of world- class lumber jacking, a fish and chip van, and a Shire horse.
