This Protocol assures quality of offset projects, and carbon footprint assessments. It is regularly reviewed by an Independent Advisory Group, chaired by Professor John Murlis (previously Chief scientist and Director at the UK’s Environment Agency) and representatives from business and NGOs which currently includes Mark Kenber of The Climate Group (lead author of the Gold Standard) and John Niles (lead author of Climate Community and Biodiversity Alliance’s standard for forestry carbon offset), Sally Uren (Forum for the Future), Ben Stimson (Sky).
